WHAT WE DO

Programmes That Transform Lives

We take a multi-layered approach—from prevention and early intervention to rehabilitation and reintegration—because lasting change requires meeting boys and men where they are.

Practical Support. Stronger Men. Safer Communities.

Men’s Voice responds to the interconnected challenges affecting vulnerable boys and men, including school dropout, substance abuse, unemployment, social exclusion, gender-based violence, and untreated mental health challenges.

Our programmes combine prevention, mentorship, psychosocial support, reintegration, community participation, and advocacy. Each intervention is designed to restore dignity, strengthen resilience, and create pathways towards education, responsibility, and self-reliance.

We do not wait for crisis to define a young man’s future. We intervene early, walk with him through recovery, and help him move forward with purpose.

Education Reintegration & Skills Development

The challenge
Many boys leave school because of economic hardship, family instability, social pressures, substance abuse, or limited support. Without education or employable skills, they face increased risk of long-term unemployment and exclusion.

What we do
Men’s Voice identifies out-of-school boys aged 12–20 and supports their return to formal education or appropriate skills-development pathways. The programme includes individual guidance, mentorship, tutoring support, referrals, and engagement with families, schools, and community structures.

Intended outcome
More boys returning to learning, developing practical skills, and gaining a realistic pathway towards independence and productive adulthood.

Substance Abuse Prevention & Recovery

The challenge
Substance abuse can disconnect boys and men from education, employment, family life, and their communities. Without timely intervention, experimentation can develop into dependency and long-term disadvantage.

What we do
Men’s Voice conducts community awareness campaigns, prevention activities, peer education, referral support, and recovery-focused interventions. We work with individuals, families, volunteers, health institutions, and community leaders to encourage early help-seeking and sustained recovery.

Intended outcome
Greater awareness of substance-related harm, earlier access to support, reduced dependency, and stronger pathways towards recovery and reintegration.

Mental Health & Suicide Prevention

The challenge
Many boys and men experience emotional distress in silence because of stigma, limited awareness, and a lack of safe spaces in which to speak openly.

What we do
Men’s Voice promotes mental health awareness, establishes community-based psychosocial support mechanisms, facilitates peer-support groups, strengthens referral systems, and trains community gatekeepers to recognise warning signs and respond appropriately.

Intended outcome
Improved emotional resilience, reduced stigma, earlier access to support, and stronger community systems for protecting mental wellbeing and preventing suicide.

GBV Prevention & Positive Masculinity

The challenge
Harmful gender norms can encourage aggression, silence, emotional disconnection, and unhealthy relationships. These attitudes contribute to gender-based violence and weaken families and communities.

What we do
Men’s Voice engages boys and men in dialogue, awareness activities, mentorship, and community training that promote respect, accountability, emotional maturity, non-violence, and responsible masculinity.

Intended outcome
Men and boys who model respect, reject violence, build healthier relationships, and actively contribute to safer homes and communities.

Youth Mentorship & Leadership Development

The challenge
Many young men lack consistent role models, trusted guidance, and opportunities to develop confidence, discipline, leadership, and responsible decision-making.

What we do
Men’s Voice connects young people with trained mentors and peer educators. Through structured mentorship, tutoring, leadership activities, life-skills development, and positive role modelling, participants receive guidance as they navigate education, relationships, identity, and adulthood.

Intended outcome
Confident, responsible, and resilient young men who make healthier choices and contribute positively to their communities.

Community Advocacy & Policy Engagement

The challenge
Boys and men often struggle to access services designed around their specific mental health, education, recovery, and social-support needs.

What we do
Men’s Voice works with government ministries, local authorities, schools, health institutions, churches, traditional leaders, civil society organisations, and community-based groups to strengthen referral systems, improve male-focused services, and promote responsive policies.

Intended outcome
Stronger partnerships, better referral pathways, increased public awareness, and more responsive systems supporting boys and men.
